Replanting forest requires large numbers of plants. One of the first plants to establish on bare ground in New Zealand is Manuka. It is the first ‘pioneer’ in a natural process of reforestation and is the foundation for our sustainable Manuka honey business.
We plant up to 20,000 Manuka trees a year, as well as another 10,000 plants of other species, many of which produce nectar for birds and bees. Most of the plants are grown from seed and cuttings are taken from the property.
